After ISWC/UbiComp 2015

Although officially founded on 24 September, GEIST had a strong presence at ISWC/UbiComp 2015; Vilhelmina Sokol won the Design Award at the ISWC Design Competition.

Osaka, Japan

Although Geist was officially founded on Sept 24, we still had a strong (unofficial) presence at this year’s ISWC and UbiComp Conferences. Overall very pleasant and inspiring event, nice to see some old friends and meet new ones.

So happy, Mina could win the Design Award at the ISWC Design Competition: Enhanced tradition: combining tech and traditional clothing (Vilhelmina Sokol, Yuta Sugiura, Kai Kunze, and Masahiko Inami, 2015). We had a paper about our reading logging technologies, Quantifying reading habits: counting how many words you read, and several at the workshops, work in progress and demo sessions: MEME - Eye Wear Computing to Explore Human Behavior; Multimodal Literacy: Storytelling Across Senses; Silhouette Interactions - Using the Hand Shadow As Interaction Modality.
