How can care be digitally relieved while keeping documentation reliable? At HealthHack 2025 of the Hannover Braunschweig Göttingen Wolfsburg metropolitan region, creative minds took on this question, with remarkable success: the project AV-AR – Actual Voice Augmented Reality reached second place.
The motivation behind AV-AR is clear: „In der Pflege gilt der Grundsatz: Was nicht dokumentiert ist, gilt als nicht getan.“ Documentation is still often manual or unstructured; existing AI-supported systems often fail on relevance, recommendations or compliance with care guidelines.
The AV-AR prototype analyses a ward-round conversation live with Microsoft Azure Speech-to-Text, recognises and automatically documents relevant parameters such as vital signs or lab results, proposes nursing and medical measures on that basis, and shows directly linked sources, all within an intuitive, voice-controlled interface. APIs of current AI models were used, with the goal of moving to local or GDPR-compliant systems in Germany. The jury praised the practical relevance and the innovative use of technology.
